The Better Business Bureau serving Louisville, Southern Indiana and Western Kentucky is pleased to announce the winners of the 2003 Torch Awards for Marketplace Ethics. The winners were first announced at the BBB’s 2003 Anniversary & Torch Awards Presentation Banquet, October 16, 2003 at the Seelbach Hilton Hotel.
Over 75 nominations for the award were received from individuals and other companies who nominated businesses they felt set the standard for marketplace ethics. Nominated businesses were then asked to submit entries demonstrating their commitment to ethical business practices through their relationships with customers, employees, supplies, shareholders and the communitry.
A panel of three judged representing the academic community, local media, and a previous winner evaluated the entries to determine this year’s winners in three business size categories.

Winners of the award will have the opportunity to be submitted for the National Torch Awards Competition. In the past 5 years, 4 local winners have been finalists on the National level. |
