Blendex celebrates 25th Year
AIK member the Blendex Company announced that 2003 is the 25th anniversary of the founding of their business. The company's primary business is to blend dry ingredients for the food industry. Beginning in 1978, the company was subsidiary of a food equipment company. Eugene Pottinger started the business on January 1, 1979, separating it from the equipment company. Blendex was under his direction until his death two years ago, when he was succeeded by his son, Ron Pottinger.
Blendex is firmly committed to Total Quality Management, and employees pride themselves on their zero tolerance attitude toward anything less than perfection. In short, if it will not lead to consistent taste, color, texture, and quality, it doesn't get shipped. All products of Blendex are packaged to the customer's specifications with or without private labeling, shipped when and where they are needed.
For almost a decade, Blendex has been proud to be "Rated Superior by the American Institute of Baking." They were the first custom blending company in the United States to become HACCP accredited in 2001 and were recently featured in a cover story by Food Processing Magazine.
