Eugene A Pottinger was born October 3, 1927 at the Pottingers' Walnut Hill home in Nelson County, Kentucky. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict.

Gene, as everyone called him, worked as a Product Designer for over thirty years. He designed home appliances and commercial cooking equipment.

Mr. Pottinger, was the founder of the Blendex Company, with incorporation in 1979. He was Chairman and C.E.O. of the Blendex Company and Blendex International.

A man of integrity, he contributed his successes to "making things happen" and donating more than ten percent of his income to church and charity.
